California City is an incorporated city with our own fire department, police department, city hall, post office and public library.

California City has a mayor and council government. The council also serves as members of the Community Redevelopment Agency.

A full time City Manager reports to the council, and manages the day to day business of the city. The departments of the city consist of police, fire, public works, community development, parks and recreation, human resources, and building and finance.
